- Description
- 1 film reel (30 min.) : si. b&w.; 16 mm.
- Summary
- Though Cabanne is thought to have directed this film, it nonetheless reveals the influence of D.W. Griffith. An oil magnate ruthlessly buys up independent rivals, then cuts wages and closes factories causing suffering among the working classes. The film hints at the occurrence of white slavery, a sensational topic at the time, and unmasks the hypocrisy of reformers.
