Summary
Archival footage and interviews with Black Olympic medalists are blended to trace the struggles of American Blacks to be part of American athletics. This documentary shows the progress of Black athletes from George Poage in 1904 through the 1984 Olympics. Major events in the history of Black Olympians are covered including the achievements of Jesse Owens and Wilma Rudolph, and the black power salute in Mexico in 1968.
