Description
2 film reels (59 min.) : sd. col.; 16 mm.
Summary
Combining lyrical and documentary filmmaking, the film enters the world of three Appalachian coalminers. In intimate and moving scenes, the film probes the varied responses of each man to his labor and in so doing, documents the changing meaning of work in the U.S. Providing a unique vision of the workplace and the divided emotions of the men who have shaped it, the film meditates on the problem of adapting to the often harsh and sometimes fatal demands of work.
