- Summary
- A raccoon spurred on by curiosity about people seeks to understand why he has been warned to avoid them. He searches for a human friend and chooses a lonely young girl who has just moved to his mountains from far away Holland. When Stanleigh escapes the clutches of local teenagers, Anna joins him in the woods and meets the magic of the "dream forest." An elderly woman appears to her as if in a dream and delivers the message that Stanleigh the raccoon has wanted to communicate: the animals of the wild need the care and protection of human beings if they are to survive.
