Summary
When a young princess loses a golden ball down a deep well, a frog pops up and promises to retrieve the ball if the young girl will allow him to eat and sleep with her. Thinking that the frog will never be able to emerge from the well, the girl agrees only to have the frog appear at the castle threshold. Davenport transports this European tale to American soil and sets the story in a 19th century Virginia plantation. (see The Making of the Frog King for a discussion of how this film was made).
