  • A continuous strip, 19 x 270 cm., folded to form ten leaves and printed on both sides, unpaged on the front, 16 columns on the back.
  • On the front is the third tale from Papyrus Westcar, a legend about King Seneferu and how his magician amused him 4500 years ago, accompanied by the hieratic text, hand copied by Manniche from photographic plates in Die Märchen des Papyrus Westcar, by A. Erman. On the back is information on books in ancient Egypt, including an account of how to make papyrus and write hieroglyphs, and a brief account of life in Egypt during the Fifth Dynasty at the time of King Seneferu. Included is a hieroglyphic text of the legend, based on Ägyptische Lesestücke, pp. 26-28, by K. Sethe.
