- Summary
- Animation brings to life the story of the happy lion who lives in a zoo in a French town. Greeted daily by Francois, the zookeeper's son, the schoolmaster, Ms. Dupont and the other townspeople, the feline basks in contentment and enjoys listening to the band at night. One morning, the keeper forgets to lock the door of his house and the lion takes the opportunity to walk out and greet the birds, the squirrel and the inhabitants. Much to his surprise, the citizenry flees in panic and he is pursued by police and firemen. Francois alone approaches him and suggests that they return to the park together. They do so at the head of a colorful parade. Ensconced in his garden, the lion is again happy and the townfolk resume their visits to say "bonjour."
