- Summary
- From egg, to fledgling to adult, the film documents the first year in Bill's fight for survival. The camera records a pair of herons about to mate, and follows their nest building, egg sitting and young rearing. Viewers watch Bill as he quarrels with his sibling over food, engages in a fishing expedition and makes forays into commercial fish hatcheries and backyard goldfish ponds.
