- 1 videocassette (47 min.) : sd., col.; 1/2 in.
- Summary
- Still photographs are used to tell the story of a young black boy named Michael who loves to count the pennies in great-great Aunt Dew's battered old box. He also enjoys listening to her stories, a story for each penny and a penny for each of Aunt Dew's one hundred years. When Michael's mother, Ruth, plans to dispose of the dilapidated box and replace it with a mahogany one made by Michael's father, the boy is defiant. He remembers Aunt Dew's words: "If I lose my hundred penny box, I lose me; it's my old box, it's me in that box."
