- Summary
- In a small California town, giant pods from outer space duplicate the citizens and take over their functions. A doctor, returning to his hometown, notices the gradual eerie loss of will and emotion in his neighbors, but is thwarted in his attempts at discovery by the disbelief of the town's officials. The film is a provocative commentary on the 50's mentality as well as a more universal allegory. (Does not circulate)
