Summary
In this iconographic film, Rose, an old widow, and John Brown, hertrusted sheepdog, live together comfortably until a midnight cat strays into their yard. Differing reactions to the cat's presence, musically enriched by strings, flute and English horn, are resolved when John Brown overcomes his jealousy.
