Summary
In her third feature, Rainer continues her preoccupation with the contradictions between the public and private persona as it afflicts the woman artist. Reflections on art, love and catastrophe are sustained by the voices of Kristina (a European liontamer who comes to New York to take up choreography) who acts as the film's heroine-narrator and Raoul, her seaman lover.
