- Summary
- Lyon's radical portrait of New Mexico features Steven Baer's diatribe on plutonium, the Navajo Council for Liberation sit-in and the activism of Ike de Vargas, a Chicano and Vietnam veteran. The contrasts and ironies of life in the Southwest are embodied in the title. "Little boy" refers to the first atomic bomb developed in New Mexico and dropped on Hiroshima, the child whose funeral opens the film and the case of Willie Jaramillo, a troubled young Chicano.
