- Summary
- In this animated, non-narrated short, a mole digging in the garden hears a ringing sound and tries to determine its source. Eliminating the bluebell as the cause, the inquisitive rodent extracts a wire out of the ground and finally unearths an old-fashioned black telephone. Not knowing what to do with it, he uses it as a barbell and rides on the armrest. Rotating the dial, he hears sounds emanating from it. When he sprinkles the receiver with water, a cough is heard prompting the mole to put a scarf around the mouthpiece. Hearing a baby cry, he places a pillow to cushion the device. Finally, the sound of snoring lulls the mole to sleep beside the receiver.
