Summary
In this iconographic adaptation, Mufaro, patriarch of an African village, has two beautiful daughters, the kind and loving Nyasha, and the meanspirited, Manyara. When the king announces his desire to find a suitable wife from among his subjects, Manyara resorts to trickery to prevent Nyasha from reaching the king's palace. When Nyasha finally arrives at the royal domain, she discovers that the monarch, having assumed various disguises in order to observe her, covets only her for his wife. Having failed to trick the king into marrying her, the devious Manyara must settle for a life of service to her sister the queen.
