- Summary
- "What would happen if the people of New York and Moscow had a kind of citizen's band talk show and could see and talk to each other via satellite? The idea of a media shuttle provoked this science fiction fantasy by two artists." In Paik's "Selling of New York" (1972), Russell Connor describes New York's rapid development in the later years of the 20th century as the information capital and multinational headquarters of the world. This is followed by scenes recorded in the Soviet Union by Dimitri Devyatkin during trips in 1974 and 1977. Other New York scenes, including some from Paik's Suite 212 are intercut with the Russian footage.
