- Summary
- Michael Smith is a video/performance artist who uses humor to comment on the banality and loneliness of everyday life. Over the past several years, he has developed a contemporary "everyman" named Mike who in his extreme naivete believes everything but understands nothing. Mike is too baffled by modern life to leave his apartment. When he has cable TV installed, he mysteriously finds himself on the tube, an instant celebrity. Deadbeat neighbors and friends drop in to stare at the set. His apartment is taken over by Bob, a deal-making piece of fur, just flown in from the coast, who is perpetually on the phone.
