A portait of Alexandra Danilova, the great Russian-American Prima Ballerina Assoluta, who was one of America's favorite ballerinas in the 30s, 40s and 50s with the Ballet Russe of Monte Carlo. Today, she is a renowned teacher at George Balanchine's School of American Ballet. The film provides a behind-the-scenes look at this famous dancer who tells the story of her life.
