- 1 videocassette (20 min.) : sd., col.; 1/2 in.
- Summary
- On Guadalupe Island, off the west coast of Mexico, there is a colony of unique aquatic mammals, the grotesque-nosed sea elephants. The Cousteau group observes the behavior of a huge herd of these nomadic mammals. They gather information regarding the size of the herd, the establishment of new colonies, and the path the animals take in their seven months at sea. Mother sea elephants are photographed caring for their young. Bulls bellow amid the seductive calls of females. The entire saga of this once nearly extinct mammal is captured on film.
