- Description

- Summary
- A report on the events surrounding the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, with emphasis on the civil rights issues involved in the interaction of police, demonstrators and bystanders. Includes interviews with demonstrators, reporters, bystanders, convention delegates, police officials, and supporters of Mayor Daley. Immediately following The Seasons change is a short film, The official statement of the Youth International [Yippy] Party. News footage of Chicago policemen clubbing unarmed demonstrators is ironically juxtaposed with crowd scenes from D. W. Griffith films such as Intolerance and Birth of a nation; the nonsynchronous soundtrack is contrapunctal. Lastly, Yippy Abbie Hoffmann nominates a pig for president.
