- Summary
- This dramatic adaptation of the Gordimer short story concerns Leurice and her husband, South Africans whose troubled marriage mirrors the divisions which plague the country at large. When a Black man dies on their land and is removed to a potter's grave, Leurice, against the wishes of her husband, joins with her Black farmhands to have him reburied on the farm. This simple desire for "six feet of the country" exposes the anguish, mistrust and gradual understanding in a land of turmoil.
