- Summary
- Set in rural Georgia in 1948, this film is the story of Henry Brown, a Black house painter who faces the ugliness of racism by taking a strong but tragic stand. Avoiding involvement in a Black voter registration drive, Henry is moved to action by the "accidental" death of the registration organizer. Ultimately, Henry must pay a grievous price for defying prejudice.
