- Description
- 1 videocassette (105 min.) : sd., col.; 1/2 in.
- Summary
- This sweet memoir of a childhood during the turbulent Franco era blends dark humor, nostalgia, fantasy, domestic comedy and social commentary. Juan, a contemplative playwright, is obsessed with the past: the war, his family, his Nazi uncle, the sensuous maid, but most of all with his attachment to a seductive mother whose sudden death inflicted a deep, emotional wound. Saura uses the rehearsal process to blur the boundaries between "reality" and theatre.
