- Summary
- This video documentary profiles the legendary jazz trumpeter Tiny Davis and her partner/lover of over 40 years, Ruby Lucas ( also known as Renee Phelan). Billed as the "female Louis Armstrong of the 1940's," Tiny was, until recently, playing the trumpet in Chicago blues clubs. This informal, intimate portrait interweaves music, archival material, live action performances and narration by poet Cheryl Clarke.
