- Summary
- High school football is a way of life in Massillon, an economically threatened Ohio town. For fifty years, the townspeople have energetically supported their Tigers, creating a football subculture that has sustained them in hard times. That same intense focus has also alienated some residents, forcing them to move elsewhere. This film is a study of the benefits and costs of a particular sense of community. Activists attempt to include everyone in the football frenzy. They provide football classes for women, free tickets for senior citizens, and a miniature football for every newborn boy in town.
