Summary
This film biography of song-and-dance man George M. Cohan begins in 1937 with Cohan performing as President Roosevelt in I'd rather be right. It follows Cohan's beginnings in vaudeville as part of a family revue to his spectacular Broadway successes. With its elaborate musical numbers extolling patriotic virtues, the movie was considered an integral part of the war movement and served as a lively morale booster. Songs include: "Give my regards to Broadway," "Over there," "Harrigan," "Mary's a grand old name," and "You're a grand old flag." (Circulates)
