Summary

Using interviews, archival photos and documents, and home movies and film from the time, this documentary documents the tragic inaction of the United States in the face of validated information of the slaughter of millions of Jews in Nazi Germany. Despite the evidence, a "paper wall" of bureaucratic red tape and an isolationist and anti-Semitic political climate prevented the emigration of Jews. The film follows the American inaction on two levels: through the experiences of Kurt Klein, a young man trying to save his parents, and through documented evidence of the U.S. government's official policy.
