Summary
The story of a boy from Central Mexico and his love for the birds , animals and the other wild creatures surrounding his father's farm. Chico's pet bird, a pisano, which is common throughout Central Mexico, repays his devotion by saving the sleeping boy in a battle with a rattlesnake.
