- Description
- 1 film reel (57 min.) : sd. col.; 16 mm.
- Summary
- A documentary on the mass immigration of Cuban refugees to the United States in Spring 1980. Beginning with their departure from the Cuban port of Mariel, the film follows the flotilla of refugees across 90 miles of sea to Key West, Florida and into the "processing" and refugee camps. This impressionistic portrait is personalized by its focus on particular individuals, including a visit to these refugees a year after their settlement. Ultimately, the Cuban odyssey raises questions about U.S. immigration policy.
