- Description
- 1 videocassette (58 min.) : sd., col.; 1/2 in.
- Summary
- Live-action footage and animated sequences are used to chronicle the design, contruction and ultimate decay of an imaginary castle at Aberwyvern in Wales. The castle is based on those built by Edward I in the 13th century to subdue the Welsh and incorporate them into the English realm. The story, presented in animation, opens as the medieval architect Master James of Babbington plans to build a castle on Lord Kevin LeStrange's fiefdom in Wales. The castle is designed to protect the English from Prince Daffyd of Gwynedd and his Welsh rebels. As the building of the castle proceeds, the program interweaves details of architecture, building materials, schedules, workers, finances, defenses, urban trades, townspeople, aristocracy, lifestyles and military strategy.
