Summary
The setting of this allegorical film is a Peruvian military school where the cadets, mirroring their adult counterparts, form a secret junta with its own hierarchy and oppression. A cadet, nicknamed "The Slave" is killed for revealing the name of a student guilty of stealing the answers to an examination. His murder causes a crisis of conscience in his friend, "The Poet," who decides to inform school officals but risks the wrath of the cadets' cruel enforcer, "Jaguar."
