- Description
- 1 film reel (15 min.) : si. b&w.; 16 mm.
- Summary
- The opening scene presents a bucolic vista and as the picture begins, the camera pans slowly across a river to rest on the front of a house. The plot concerns a country doctor faced with the dilemma of whether to save his own child or the daughter of one of his patients. He lives up to his Hippocratic Oath and sacrifices his own child. The lyricism of the opening scene becomes funereal when it is repeated at the conclusion.
