- "The final work in [Birnbaum's] Damnation of Faust trilogy subtly references its two companion pieces, Evocation and Will o' the wisp. Here, uneven worlds are paralleled: the atomized subjectivities of two women are contained alongside demonstrations of an earlier time's public political eruptions. A postscript is the anchor: made in dedication to the two women, born in May 1968 and February 1969."
