- Summary
- The "Day of the Dead" is All Soul's Day in Mexico, a religious holy day marked by an annual celebration and special events. Candy skulls, puppets and figurines, masks, calaveras or cartoons representing death, food and flowers, all play a part in the rituals which guide the dead on their journey to their new home. Celebrations which combine dancing and feasting, music and prayers, help make the relationship with death one of friendship rather than fear.
