- Summary
- An Irish pioneer family in the Ottawe Valley during the 1830's faces the harsh Canadian winter. When the father goes downriver for the logging season, he leaves his family to discover their own resources of courage and adaptability. When their mother succumbs to pneumonia, the brother and sister must survive the bitter elements. The two are left alone to wait for their father's return in the spring.
