Summary
The central character of this animated fairy tale is a young blind girl who searches the forest for the magical foxes she believes can restore her sight. Distrusting humans, the foxes tell the child that they are really bushy-tail rabbits and lead her to a patch of thorns to harm her. When the foxes are pursued by a hungry tiger, however, the girl intervenes, frightening the predator away. Remorseful, the foxes take the girl to an underground river that is purported to have healing powers. Unfortunately, the waters do not prove effective. Distraught and in tears, the girl is comforted by the woodland animals and her vision is miraculously restored. Can this happy event be traced to the river, a bump on the head, the love of the forest creatures, or is it just a happy ending?
