- Summary
- Mészaros' first film is the bittersweet story of a young, independent woman who, upon leaving the state-run orphanage in Budapest, goes in search of her mother. In a small village, she meets the traditional farm woman who gave her up years before. During the course of their brief and uneasy reunion, the gulf between their sexual and social identities is made apparent.
