- Summary
- In this animated adaptation of the Wilde fairy tale, a beautiful, ornate statue is admired by the townspeople who call it "The Happy Prince." A swallow flying south for the winter espies the prince weeping for the city's poor. The prince persuades the bird to pluck out his jewels and give them to the needy. The people are happy but the statue is ruined and hauled away. The swallow dies in the wintry cold.
