- Summary
- Three teenage mothers discuss the realities of raising a child and the responsibilities it entails. Audrey, a mother at 15, describes the pressures of rearing a baby, working a full-time job and attending school. She subsequently quits school to spend more time with her child but has little hope for her future. Diana reveals the jealousy, anger, frustration and impatience she experiences caring for her daughter. She feels inadequate as a mother and dislikes the restrictions on her social life that motherhood demands. 17-year-old Denise discusses peer pressure to have sex and a baby. She helps in the teenage childbirth classes that form part of the Young Parents Program at Presbyterian Hospital.
