Description

Summary
In this live action adaptation, Archie, a young black boy, joins with other neighborhood children in preparing for the upcoming pet show. Planning to enter his pet cat into competition, Archie is distraught when he discovers that he is missing. The wayward cat had, in fact, taken a walk with a kindly, old lady. Having lost all hope of retrieving his pet, Archie attends the competiton with his entry, a "germ," awarded a prize for the "quietest pet in the show." After the other children receive their prizes, Archie is delighted to espy the elderly woman accepting a prize for his cat. The boy and his pet are joyfully reunited.
