- 1 videorecording (57 min.) : sd., col.; 1/2 in.
- Summary
- Between 1950 and 1980, the osprey became one of the most endangered species in North America. The thousands of large, predatory birds that migrated to breed in the coastal marshes of New England were victims of DDT poisoning. This documentary chronicles the efforts of concerned citizens to have DDT banned, and charts the return of the ospreys to their traditional nesting areas. The camera captures the birds performing courtship flights, building huge nests, feeding their young and diving for fish.
