- Summary
- In 16th-century Japan, the peasants of a small village recruit seven samurai to protect them from annual bandit attacks. When the warriors arrive, a series of spectacular battles commence. The director's mobile camera captures the action through foliage, rainstorms, dust and wind. In the United States, Kurosawa's epic, which borrows elements from American cinema, was re-made into a western entitled The Magnificent seven.
