- Summary
- 1) Fritjof Capra - The Emerging new culture. Author of The Tao physics, physicist Fritjof Capra discusses the new holistic culture that has emerged in the 20th century and argues that the biological sciences, quantum physics, and system theory will provide a theoretical foundation which will supercede the decaying culture based on a linear, mechanistic worldview. 2) Willis Harman - Global mind-changes. Futurist Willis Harman suggests that a new set of values, emerging simultaneously in many social strata and in different parts of the world, is having an impact on business and corporate training. 3) Roger Walsh - Staying alive, psychology of human survival. Roger Walsh, professor of psychiatry at the University of California, Irvine, urges personal introspection as the key to healing the culture of its dangerously insane condition. 4) Donald Michael - Governance, uncertainty and compassion. Donald Michael, author and public policy advisor, argues that we must acknowledge the existential realities of our uncertainty, our need for community, and our isolation in the face of death in order to reach a position of compassion from which effective long-range planning may proceed.
