Summary
Theater, politics and romance are interwoven in this triangular love story about three young people in Tuscany. Giovanni, a Milanese magistrate, is sent to the hilltop town of San Gimignano to settle his grandfather's estate. There, he meets and falls in love with Eugenia who works in a Florence tax office during the week but who spends her days off as a stilt-walker with a street theater troupe. Eugenia, however, has no intention of leaving Enzo, an agronomist who hopes to start a commune with the local farmers.
