- Summary
- Intermission features Dorman H. Winfrey, a historian, archivist and Director of the Texas state Library in Austin Texas, first heard Toscanini in one of the radio broadcasts in 1942, and since then has always tuned in to listen to such radio programs. In 1950, when the NBC Orchestra toured the country with concerts, he attended one in Austin. Later, he became intrigued by maestro as a person, and started to collect material about him which resulted in a book he wrote: Toscanini in Texas.
