Summary
Photographs of Clarence Wilson who was the first African American judge to be appointed in Brooklyn, New York, in 1951. Collection includes quarter-length studio portraits of Wilson; a group portrait of Wilson with F. Glover, James A. Powers and Rev. Archibald V. McLees; views of Wilson being sworn in by Mayor Vincent Impellitteri; and a view of his wife, the former Julia Phillips Blair, christening a boat while Wilson, Douglas James and Rev. Moses Payton look on. Also included is a studio portrait of Wison's wife.
