Typescript within decorative borders and illustrations reproduced on pages of recycled coarse brown paper with t.p. on yellow bond and added t.p. and colophon on cream bond. Mounted decorated-paper cutouts on preliminaries, colophon and page dividing text and notes. Dividing page and flyleaves are light brown tracing paper. Pages are glued at left margin to tab hinge and the whole glued to brown kraft paper wrappers. Wrappers are printed on both sides with a map of las Repúblicas Americanas. Front wrapper has collage of colored cutouts which reproduces José Martí's portrait of Simón Bolívar. Beneath the front flap of Bolívar's uniform jacket is a colored drawing of a heart. Back wrapper has collage of colored cutouts depicting the Ediciones Vigía lantern. Some hand coloring.
Part of a collection of handmade books published by Ediciones Vigía under the auspices of the Cuban Ministry of Culture.
