- The Warners were descended from early settlers of Manhattan, among them Anneke Jans Bogardus (1605-1663). Peter Roome Warner (1804-1896) was a New York City insurance executive and the author of Descendents of Peter Willemse Roome (New York: Daniel H. Gildersleeve, 1883).
