- Description
- [21] leaves; 36 cm.
- Note
- Artist's book, featuring a wide range of decorative papers. These are cut into rectangles measuring 4" x 2" and stuck onto mottled fawn-coloured paper rectangles (same size), on which the Latin text is printed in black, with English summaries for each section, printed in russet. The resulting rectangular cards are attached to the book's spine, a piece of grey card folded concertina-style, in groups of six, stuck onto alternate sides of each fold. The result is a rich juxtaposition of intertextures, grains, colours and text, further enhanced by the constantly changing angles of the articulated 'leaves' when the book is open
- 'This book commemorates the performance of the Requiem by Hector Berlioz given on May 27, 1988 by the San Francisco Symphony. It is dedicated to Maestro Herbert Blomstedt.' - colophon
