Summary
  • Performer André De Shields discusses the Classical Theatre of Harlem's production of Langston Hughes' Black nativity with hosts Michael Riedel and Susan Haskins. This play about the birth of Christ with an all-Black cast was first performed in the early 1960s. The new production features the Shangilia Youth Choir of Nairobi, Kenya, who perform two numbers.
  • The second segment moves to the first rehearsal of David Mamet's new comedy, November. Susan Haskins interviews actors Nathan Lane, Dylan Baker, Laurie Metcalf, and Michael Nichols, as well as the playwright. She also speaks with Village Voice columnist Michael Musto.
